Through our many years experience of renting R.V’s we like to think we have a pretty good understanding of what our customers are looking for. The overwhelming requirement is for a ‘true’ all-inclusive package. With this in mind, below you will find what we now include as standard in our packages along with an explanation of what everything means. Roundtrip scheduled flights Our prices are based on scheduled flights from London, however we have deals on departures from Manchester are regional add-on flights from most U.K. airports. Airport Tax The ever-increasing airport taxes imposed by the U.K. U.S. and Canada are included with all Complete North America packages. 1st night hotel stay You cannot collect a vehicle on the day of arrival so we will provide a hotel room for the night of your arrival. Roundtrip Transfers We provide transfers from our designated first night hotels and also transfers from the rental location to a designated hotel or the airport terminal at the end of your rental. Nightly Hire of Vehicle Other than a minimum 7 night rental you choose how long you would like to have the vehicle for and we cost accordingly. The basic nightly rental includes a full tank of propane, chemicals and tissue. Unlimited Mileage Forget limited miles and buying extra mileage packs as with some operators, all our vehicles included unlimited mileage. The last thing you should be worrying about during your experience is going over your allotted mileage limit. Personal Kits All members of your party will have a personal kit that includes – Blankets, pillow, pillowcase, bath towel, sheets, washcloth, dish towel, tumblers, hand towel, coffee cup. Vehicle Kit Each vehicle has a vehicle kit that includes Water pitcher, pan covers, frying pan, potato peeler, strainer, corkscrew, Dutch oven, bottle opener, kettle, salad bowls, 1qt sauce pan, platter, 4pc cutlery, 2qt sauce pan. Unlimited Generator Use Normally charged at $3 per hour but free unlimited use on all C.N.A. rentals. Particularly useful on campsites where no electrical hook-up is available or all spaces are taken. Public Liability Basic public liability is included in your rental, which covers liability claims, property damage and/or personal injuries resulting from the operation of an El Monte RV vehicle. Coverage provides third party legal limits to protect the renter but liability coverage is limited to the minimum financial limits determined by the U.S. state or Canadian Province in which the incident occurred. Claims in excess of this limit may arise and are the responsibility of the renter unless SLI (Supplemental Liability Insurance) has been purchased. Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) Normally charged at $8 per day but included on all C.N.A. rentals. Supplemental Liability Insurance provides excess auto liability insurance that protects the renter for the difference between the underlying public liability insurance and up to $1,000,000 against claims by a third party for bodily injury and/or property damage sustained as a result of an accident while operating the rental vehicle. Exclusions: Include but are not limited to the following: Use of a rental vehicle in violation of the terms and conditions of the rental contract. Motor home or vehicle damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics. Accidents arising out of the use of a rental vehicle by an unauthorized driver. Renter’s liability for damage to the rental vehicle. Vehicle Incident Protection (VIP) VIP coverage reduces the renter’s responsibility to $700 per occurrence in case of overhead damage, undercarriage damage, damage from vehicle back up, vandalism, theft or windshield damage regardless of fault and for costs incurred in transporting damaged vehicle to the rental station, including towing and storage, provided renter is in compliance with the terms and conditions of the rental contract. Certain exclusions apply see below. VIP only covers damage to the motor home or vehicle itself while under the rental contract and does not in any way limit the renter’s responsibility for liability claims, property damage, and / or personal injuries (see Pubic Liability and SLI above). Deductible From Renter Per occurrence: $700 - provided the following exclusions have not occurred. T his deductible in non-refundable under any circumstances . Exclusions: Include but are not limited to the following: Use of a rental vehicle in violation of the terms and conditions of the rental contract. Your camper is a comfortable and reliable Volkswagen-based unit (factory built) with a 2500cc diesel engine (California) or a Ford-based unit (factory built) with a 2000cc turbo diesel engine (Nugget). The camper handles well and is compact and easily parked. Inside is everything necessary to accomodate a party of up to 4 adults. It is a small car to drive but big enough to live in. A bench seat converts into one double bed, another double bed is in the pop up roof, which you raise at night. There is no shower and no toilet, but you have a 2 -burner gas cooker, fridge, sink with pump and watertank, table, storage room, stationary heater, radio/CD player, plus all the pots and pans, cutlery and everything else you'll need for your camper holiday. We have the Ford Rimor diesel camper, a European sized American style camper. Economical with fuel (1Litre/per 8km) and quite quick with a 2500 cc engine. Vehicle comes with awning plus outside table and chairs. There is no air conditioning but vehicle does have a cigarette lighter. A motorhome of approximately 19ft in length. 5.50 Metres Long, 2.10 Metres Wide, 2.95 Metres High. Bed sizes are 2.00 x 1.35 metres and 2.00 x 1.45 metres. The vehicles have shower and toilet and sleep either 5 to 6 persons. All campers and motorhomes are manual and have a stationary heater, radio/ CD player, fridge, 2 burner cooker, sink with water pump and water tank (100 litres). All vehicles are supplied with kitchen and dining utensils etc.They also come with an awning, free external table and chairs. Electricity voltage is 12V unless plugged in at a camp site. The SHORT STOP column gives more in depth descriptions of an area for RVers to visit. There were three or four travel destination stories. Several feature articles glorified new motorhome models and their bells and whistles. A few drawbacks were mentioned so these could aid a consumer planning a purchase. Other articles profiled a celebrity and his custom motorhome and one covered rehabbing an older motorhome. There's a HOT LINE column that mediates disputes about motorhomes (usually repair problems). The COACH & CHASSIS column answers technical questions from readers about RV refrigerators, batteries, power steering, furnace, etc. QUICK TIPS features a sampling of reader's ideas. POWERTRAIN Q & A answers readers' questions about motor issues. LOOKING BACK features a vintage motorhome. The advertisements offer lots of information which I can use to check against other sources to make sure I'm getting what I want and not over-paying. I really enjoy the trips section, and the reviews of the new motor homes. I save every issue and read them several times to uncover gems that I missed in the first reading. The reviews of the Rialta, the Trek and the See Ya have been particularly helpful to me. I also like the articles about the dinghys. My goal now is to travel from Florida to Mexico to Alaska, then East through Canada to the Maritimes, then back to Florida. While in Mexico I plan to take the Copper Canyon trip, and in the Northwest I will retrace sections of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. FREE Newsletter. Sign Up Now! Westfalia Camper Van is an Alternative to Hotels and Big RVs I've always liked the idea of having a house on wheels while on vacation. I like the idea of stopping wherever I want, cooking my own meals and not having to unpack in a half dozen hotels on a week long trip. However, I didn't want to drive and park something the size of school bus. I recently discovered the perfect solution: renting a Volkswagen Westfalia camper van. The Westfalia camper van is about the size of a standard mini-van, easy to park and drive. It is also a camper, with stove, sink and refrigerator, and, thanks to its easy-to-pop-up top, it has two double beds. We enjoyed the convenience of the camper van, especially when we parked at a scenic spot, lifted the top, and enjoyed a meal with a view at our own private table. At night, we cooked dinner on our gas stove, ate at an insect-free table for two, and slept soundly on a comfortable bed. In the morning, we made coffee without stepping outside. When it was time to park, the camper van slid into a standard parking place with no fuss. For two people camping in Yosemite, the Westfalia camper van's rental cost was comparable to lower-priced hotels in the park, and it was available with much less advance notice (and almost half of Yosemite's camping sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis). In other locations, an inexpensive hotel or motel may be less expensive than the camper van, but consider the cost of meals as well as convenience before making a decision. If you decide to rent a camper van, here are few tips to help make your experience more comfortable: Be sure you know exactly what will be provided in the camper van. Ask about what's in the kitchen kit, and rent sheets and towels if you need them. The Westfalia camper van does not have electrical connections, but they do have interior lights that operate from the auxiliary battery. When you check the camper van out, it looks simple when someone else shows it to you, but it becomes complex when you have to do it yourself. Make notes, and do everything yourself. Otherwise, you'll spend the first three days of your trip wondering exactly how you were supposed to start the refrigerator, or how to turn off the heater. If you want to cook meals in the camper van, plan them in advance, and make a grocery list. You may want to bring a few staples from home, such as salt, sugar and cooking oil. Unless you are planning on traveling a very short distance, opt for unlimited miles. The small difference in daily rate pays for your peace of mind. The step in and out of the camper van is a little high, and you have to get over the wheel well. If anyone in your party has mobility problems, discuss them before you rent. I rented the Westfalia camper van from California Campers in Redwood City (south of the San Francisco Airport). They also have an office in Los Angeles.
