Bought right and thoroughly checked out, a used RV can enable you to get more RV for your money. Unlike new RVs, it's also pretty easy to determine the general wholesale and retail values of a used RV. Here are two resources to help you with that. NADA guides for RVs available online and in the bookstore. Kelly Blue Book produces the Motor Home and the Travel Trailer Guides but they aren't available on the Web. The Motor Home Guide covers motor homes, campers, and van conversions and list prices for the new model year. It is published 3 times a year. A subscription costs $56. The Travel Trailer Guide covers used travel trailers, fifth wheels, folding trailers, and includes a chart for older models and list prices for the new model year. It is published 2 times a year. Theseunits were produced in limited quantities by the Ultra Van Corporation ofHutchinson, Kansas until June of 1970. As a true monococque structure, the Ultra Van has no chassis. It is constructedlike an airplane with aluminum ribs covered with riveted sheet aluminum on thetop and sides. Compound curved areas (front and back corners) are fiberglass.All wheels are independently sprung with coil springs and tubular shockabsorbers. Kansas State Fairgrounds The Ultra Van Motor Coach Club celebrated the 30th Anniversary ofthe start of production of Ultra Vans at Hutchinson, Kansas. By week's end,38 coaches had gathered for the occasion. One of the highlights of our rally was the convoy from Cheney State Parkto Hutchinson for a parade of 27 coaches through town. Hundreds of people took thousands of photos, and television stations from Wichita and other cities recorded the event. The photo below is a panoramic view of the coaches forming up for our convoy. During the week long encampment at the Kansas State Fairgrounds, hundredsof former Ultra employees and local citizens took the opportunity to visit with us, look at the coaches, talk to owners (both original and recent purchasers), and learn more about these unique vehicles. A group of about 20 Cushman Scooter owners rode down from Topeka to visit with us and share the nostalgia of old, classic vehicles. For some unknown reasonthey purchased the "demonstrator" Ultra Van (#200) and set offon their journey. Unfortunately the Ultra was struck in the rear andtotaled. It is not uncommon for the months of July and August to be reserved by February of each year. We encourage you to make your plans early if you are trying to reserve a cabin. There are regular customers who come every year who make reservations a year in advance. All cabins, camp sites and RV sites are prepaid at time of booking. You may cancel without penalty prior to May 1. If you need to cancel between May 1 and 15 days prior to your arrival date there is a 1 night cancellation fee. There are no refunds for reservations cancelled within 14 days of arrival date. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and Personal Checks for reservations. If you are sending a personal check, we will hold your reservation for 14 days awaiting arrival of the check. Check In and Check Out Times: Check in time is 4 PM daily and Check out time is 11 AM. All cabins with dishes must have dishes done, stove cleaned, and cabin tidied up prior to departure to get their $25 deposit returned. Camping type cabins must be swept out, tidied up, and generally left in the condition they were found in. All trash must be taken from cabin on departure. Millers Landing Staff will check the cabins at departure time and refund the deposits on them if they are left in reasonably clean condition. Please remember the housekeeper is not responsible for doing the dishes, they are there for your convenience. Your participation in helping with keeping cabins neat and tidy is what helps keep our cabin rental costs low and reasonable.
