They are suited to all walks of life--from the simplest, most compact models to family-friendly ones as well as those accustomed to luxury on the road. Figure A Class A The Class A motor home combines the driving cabin and living area for a luxurious ride. A good example of one is the Gulfstream Friendship Quattro (figure A) , which is not only elegant and luxurious, but it is also the first four-slideout Class A coach. The additional two slideouts allow for a spacious bedroom, including a queen-size bed, a second television and a convenient workstation with Internet hookup. Figure B Another Class A, the Airstream Skydeck, is the world's first RV with a patio built onto the roof (figure B) . Sportsmen's Paradise This next class is designed for weekend getaways and/or off-road adventures. One example is the Chinook Baja, a slick and sophisticated 4 X 4 Class C RV that comes with cherry wood-finished cabinets, double-door refrigerator and GPS (global positioning system) navigational system. The Lance Camper 1161 features a slideout with several floor plans, including a new side entry that allows entrance or exit of the vehicle from an established camping area. The Lance's dinette allows for additional seating and easily converts into a large bed that sleeps two. For those of you who want to bring along your sporting vehicles, there's the Blaze 'N' Ramp Trailer that is designed specifically for carrying them right on board. Figure C Figure D Family Affair This set of RVs can be suited to family travel. The Jayco Eagle tent trailer (figure C) is often the first step a family might take when embarking on the RV lifestyle. It blends a roughing-it type of camping vacation with all of the conveniences of home. For those families who want a little more than the basics, there's the Carriage Carri-Lite 5th Wheel. If offers all the space of a class A, but needs a tow vehicle. The slideout adds an additional 30 to 40 square feet of space (figure D) . Simple Living on Wheels As more people try life on the road, manufacturers have come up with options to match every budget. So, if you're looking to economize without giving up comfort and convenience, then these compact and easy-to-manage RVs are for you. Figure E Figure E--The Chalet camping trailer is one of the smallest tow trailers on the market and can be assembled in 30 seconds or less. Particularly popular with first-time tent campers that want a little more luxury than sleeping on the ground, it comes equipped with an outside shower, and a trailer sleeps four--the couch folds into a full-size bed that sleeps two people, and the dinette folds into another bed that sleeps two more. Figures F and G--The Coachmen Chapparal Fifth Wheel is a great vehicle for the family that is looking to trade up to a larger class of RV. Completely revolutionizing RV design, it features for the first time, bunk beds as well as a large queen-size bed and spacious sleeping arrangements in the convertible furniture. There's also a galley kitchen with a double sink, stove, microwave and double-door refrigerator. It sleeps eight. Figure F Figure G Figure H Figure I Full-Time RVs As the name suggests, these mid-priced luxury motor homes are suited for those who like to live on the road full time--from the Georgie Boy Cruisemaster (figure H) , which boasts a galley kitchen, dinette and computer workstation, to the Western Alpine Coach Class A (figure I) , a 38-foot, front-door triple slideout that features a spacious living room, full residential refrigerator, garden shower and double slideout bedroom. It's even got a 37-inch plasma TV in the center of the floor plan! Large and in Charge Last up on our pictorial tour are some of the most luxurious RVs on the market for 2003. Figure J Figure K Figure J--Each Foretravel Unicoach has a custom-designed interior, retractable awning for shady outdoor dining, elegant fabrics on the furniture, 20-inch flat-screen television and a queen-size bed in the master bedroom. As an added bonus, the graphics on the exterior can be easily matched with the owner's car or boat. Figure K--The Country Coach Lexa luxury motor coach features a high-tech dashboard with massaging driver's seat and GPS navigational system. Inside the coach are ultra-suede furnishings, residential refrigerator and lighting and even heated tile flooring.
