Moutcha Bay is under new ownership / management and a number of new services are going to be provided to ensure past and future clients enjoy their west coast experience on Vancouver Island. The salmon fishing for 2005 is predicted to be once again a record year with strong runs of Chinook (Tyee / King Salmon) and Coho returning to the Nootka Sound. With the government predictions comes the expectation for the same recreational fisheries openings as 2004 or better. For your convenience and trip planning we've provided maps indicating the fisheries openings in the sound, as openings change well update the maps accordingly. So check back often. In addition to the marine adventures we can't under estimate the land base activities at Moutcha Bay or the surrounding area. Be it a self guided tour through our local caves, afternoon break photographing crystal clear waterfalls, searching out the local Roosevelt Elk or Black Bear or stopping at the Conuma Salmon Hatchery for a free guided tour with the salmon experts. The list of activities are numerous, you'll find more information on the activities information pages. For the second year in a row Travel & Leisure Magazine has rated Vancouver Island as the #1 destination under the Best Island; category in Continental US/Canada and # 3 worldwide. The Island has attained this world class status through quality tourism products and Moutcha Bay has taken this one step further by identifying other services and tourism products that will supplement your Vancouver Island holiday experience and where possible have made direct links to those quality tour operators in the area that would be happy to hear from you. The richness, history and quality of adventures on the west coast is really the result of the respect and management of our natural resources and environment as a whole. As it has so much to offer society in general, today and into the future, our goal is to ensure that we operate Moutcha Bay in a sustainable and environmentally way. We appreciate all the dedicated work that has occurred on the west coast in salmon and marine resource enhancement. We are proud to assist where we can and in doing so Moutcha Bay will contribute a portion of revenues to the Destiny Fund . Enjoy our web site and explore all the services we offer. We also have links to Grizzly bear viewing tours, other ocean kayaking trips, Destiny River Adventures raft and float tours, West Coast float plane tours and charters and lots of useful links to local information, services and attractions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Services | Reservations | Fishing Info | Activity Info | History Info Kayaking | Links | How to get Here | Home Phone: 250-923-2908 or E-mail: info@moutchabay.com Fleetwood RV Joins JohnNewsroom Welcome!
