This course was developed with the idea of assisting the technician who may have lots of experience, but may lack the technical expertise to pass the Interprovincial exam. A technician requires 1½ times the apprenticeship in experience before being granted the opportunity to challenge this exam. He/she would need 6 years of trade experience. This is a 60-hour course and delivered using the Internet as a distance delivery method. The 60 hours of theory is usually delivered twice a week for 3 hours in evenings. At present this course is offered as required by industry.
