There may be some campgrounds that will not allow RVs above an overall length of approx. 25 ft. Is it necessary to make reservations for campgrounds? Depending on season and location it may be necessary to make reservations in advance, especially during the summer months and for points of special interest e.g. National Parks, Theme Parks, etc. Is it possible to rent any other camping equipment? There is either a V8 or a V10 engine. The refrigerator, microwave, stove and high output 2- or 3-burner range are operated with propane gas. The power for the air conditioner is supplied during driving by the engine and when the engine is off it is supplied by an outside 110V power supply. What kind of fuel does a RV need? There are fuel tank capacities depending on the model between 33 gallons (125 litres) and 55 gallons (210 litres). The RV needs unleaded 89 octane. What is the average fuel use of a RV? A van needs approx. 20 litres and a motorhome approx. 30 litres. Why do RVs need so much fuel? Because of its weight (between 4 and 6 tons) and its size. The overall height is between 110 inches (280 cm) and 144 inches (366 cm) and the overall width between 76 inches (193 cm) and 102 inch (259 cm). The overall length is between 17 feet (516 cm) and 32 feet (960 cm). Is it secure to sleep in a RV? On a campground there is absolutely no problem. What does RV stand for? You are excited about spending quality time with your family and getting away for a few days. However, before hitting the open road don’t forget to make sure that your car is up to the task. This checklist provides you with peace of mind and could alert you to any trouble as you get ready to head down the highway: Check engine oil — level should be between the "add" and "full" marks. If it’s low, add a quart, but don’t overfill. If oil appears to be dark or opaque, it’s probably time for an oil change. Check coolant — coolant keeps your car from overheating. Make sure that the level is between "high" and "low." Remember that the cooling system operates best when the coolant is a 50/50 mixture of water and antifreeze. Check belts and hoses — look for cracks and signs of wear, especially on the fan belt. Check the coolant hoses for leakage and cracks. Replace if they appear to be worn. Check tires — make sure there are no cuts or bulges and that the tires still have good tread. Check the pressure with a pressure gauge and add air if needed (maximum amount of pressure is noted on the outside of the tire). Also, don’t forget to check your spare tire, just in case. Check lights — turn on all your lights and walk around your car to make sure that all lights are functioning properly. Also, ask someone to stand behind your car while you test your brake lights. Just to be on the safe side, you should also include an emergency kit in your car comprising of a quart of oil, a gallon of water, some basic tools, jumper cables, gloves, a flashlight with spare batteries, duct tape, a first aid kit, flares, and the most important tool of all...your cell phone.
